Taroudannt is city of the Kingdom of Morocco. Taroudannt is situated in the Souss Valley running between the High Atlas and Anti Atlas mountain ranges, about 80 km from the coast.
The economic base for the city is handicrafts, trade of agriculture produce and light industries. Taroudannt is famous for its pink houses, and fortified walls which are in excellent condition, and which represent the borders of the city in all but the eastern direction. Taroudannt has very little French colonial architecture, which is unusual for a city of its size. Hence, the city is an important tourist destination, even if there are few typical sights in town.
